Changes

The world is changing day by day, and that certainly applies to pensions. There are set to be some major changes, like the planned new pension rules, and also minor changes – I’ve succeeded Erwin Cramer as director of Bpf Koopvaardij’s Administrative Office. Fortunately, Erwin hasn't actually left just yet: until 1 September, we'll be working together on everything that's going on in the world of pensions. That includes the new pension rules. The social partners – the representatives of the employees and employers – are working on a plan for implementing those new rules. They consult regularly with Bpf Koopvaardij about it. Once the plan has been finalised, the fund's Board will consider whether it’s feasible. If it is, how will the fund introduce it and communicate with you about it? We will keep you informed about how things will work out in practice and their progress. Another change involves the switch from MN to PGGM as of 1 July. MN was our administrative organisation: the company that handles all the administration work for your pension. That work will now be carried out by PGGM. If all goes well, you won’t notice the change. Your contacts on the phone will be the same people as before, because MN’s employees now work at PGGM. That’s one of the things you can read about in this number of Op Koers. I hope you enjoy reading this new number.
