How satisfied are you?

Your opinion is important to us. That's why we regularly ask what you think of our services. That way, we know what’s going well and what we can do even better. In 2024, nearly 3,500 people completed the questionnaire for our customer satisfaction survey. They gave Bpf Koopvaardij an average of 8.2! You gave a lot of positive feedback. But some expressed concern about the future of their pensions. Especially because of the new pension rules. We will do everything we can to keep you well informed about the changes. You can read more about the new pension rules in the pension file on page 6. At the end of this year, we will ask you again for your opinion and knowledge of the new pension scheme. We hope that many people will respond again.
Additional pension option ‘lump sum’ postponed again
For the time being, it will not be possible to withdraw part of your pension at once when you retire (the 'lump sum' option).
This will be possible from 1 July 2026 at the earliest. Will you retire before 1 July 2026? If so, you cannot yet opt for a ‘lump sum’. It is not yet certain whether you will be able to opt for a lump sum from 1 July 2026. This depends on the Dutch Senate's consideration of the bill. The government has already postponed the start date several times.
What does the turmoil on the financial markets mean for your pension?
At the beginning of this year, stock markets fluctuated considerably.
This was due to the US import tariffs. This turmoil will not affect your pension. Even though we are affected by the price falls, your pension remains unchanged for now.

This is because we invest our assets in accordance with responsible risk principles. In doing so, we focus on the long term. In the short term, investments may fall, as we are seeing now. To protect our assets against this, we invest globally and in different types of investments, for example. As a result, we are less impacted by these falls. We note that our equity investments have declined significantly due to the turmoil. On the other hand, our other investments, such as government and corporate bonds, have remained relatively stable. So we are still in good shape financially.

Apply for your pension in good time Would you like to retire in early 2026? If so, apply for your pension by November 1 at the latest. We plan to transfer all pensions to the new pension scheme on 1 January 2026. We do this very carefully and it takes time. For this reason, the pension planner will be temporarily unavailable at the beginning of 2026. Please note: the amounts you see in the pension planner now may differ slightly from the amount you will receive in 2026.
